Christmas Recap
At Saint Patrick School, we perform a Christmas concert. All the grades put on a play for the parents. We also have a Christmas fair and play with our little buddies. At the fair we play BINGO and can win small prizes. We also do crafts and send letters to sick people we know. We also watch a Christmas movie with our little buddies. Then after the fair we went to Church. Earlier in that week the fourth and fifth graders sing carols to the elders at Garden Terrace Nursing Home, which is right down the street.
To some people, Christmas means Santa, presents, and candy canes. Christmas can include those fun things, that’s not the true meaning Christmas. Christmas is about our Savior being born!
St. Pat’s helps us realize that Christmas can be fun, as long as we keep the true meaning in mind. For example, every year we have a Christmas fair where we participate in games and activities related to Christmas. Also, Santa comes and we take pictures with him and get a special present.
Every year the craft in the Christmas fair is a stable with a manger, along with baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and a few animals. Not just that but all of the places at the fair somehow involve Jesus. Even bingo! At the end of the day, we go to mass, as a school. As you know teachers, staff, student council, and volunteers help us learn what Christmas is really about. Our Savior's birth!
