This year our Saint Patrick School JV Basketball Team is comprised of eleven 5th and 6th grade girls. Many of the girls have been playing together for a few years now and some players are new to the game. The players work hard several times a week with Coach Brody and Coach Ness always making up new and creative plays and strategies to help the team be successful. Our team has won many games this season and is continually improving and working together. According to 5th grade player, Bridget Boler, “We are a hard working group of girls who have learned to work together.” Bridget states that “Being on the basketball team changes you as a person.”
She also says that “ Being on the basketball team has encouraged me to be more hard working and determined. With the help of our coaches, our love of basketball continues to increase.” Bridget has been playing basketball since first grade and she says, “I have never played better than I have this year, thanks to my coaches.” Now the season is over and the girls are proud of how they played. The team got the highest reacord in the school, making it into the quarter-finals. According to Maya Zidzunas, “The team and I are proud of how we played, and happy to represent St.Patrick School.”
