Forensics
Are you a good public speaker or would you like the chance to become one? Some students don’t want to try out for the team because of their fear of speaking in public. If that’s what’s holding you back, you do not need to worry. Once you make the team, you aren’t just thrown into a competition. You will be given the chance to work with exceptional moderators who will build your confidence by providing constructive feedback on your piece The dedicated moderators know just what the team needs to be successful. Don’t let a fear of public speaking stop you from joining because frequent practice with the moderators will improve that. Here is what some of the current team members have said:
“It gives me confidence, and I learn how to talk in front of crowds of people.”
Another student added:, “Forensics helps you to bring out your emotions or feelings, depending on the speech you choose.”
“Public speaking is an important skill, and it’s the one skill that’s underestimated. You use it (public speaking) a lot in life, more than you think. Public speaking is a big part of everything you do and will help you later in life.”-Brian Boler
“Forensics makes you more confident in speaking in public. I chose to sign up for forensics because the experience will be very helpful to me in future life. Like during a job interview or convincing your parents to let you have something.”-Bridget Boler
Forensics allows students to learn valuable life-long skills in public speaking. In addition to the the educational value of practices and competitions, students find forensics one of the many enjoyable and rewarding experiences at Saint Patrick School!
